We are terrified. We fear parting ways with the person we’ve been with for a long time, being by ourselves, and the unknown.

We continue in one-sided relationships long after the love has faded because of this anxiety.

Sadly, too many individuals nowadays may identify with these words. Unbelievably, a great deal of lost souls believe they don’t deserve love. However, this couldn’t be further from the reality.

How could going on alone and finding real love be preferable to staying in a toxic relationship?

You shouldn’t be concerned about being alone.

You Should Be Afraid of Staying in a One-Sided Relationship.

Here is why: 

1. Staying in a one-sided relationship prevents you from ever feeling free to be who you are.

Both parties must be entirely committed to one another in order to have a happy, healthy romantic relationship. They must encourage one another to invest in their progress as individuals and as a partnership by accepting one another with all of their flaws and inadequacies.

Your significant other should support all of your goals and aspirations and should urge you to take action. You should also do the same for them at the same time.

You can never feel free to be yourself around your partner if that element of the relationship is absent and you are hesitant to show them your true colors. It’s never wise to make that kind of sacrifice.

2. Being alone is preferable to being with someone who doesn’t care about you.

You have more freedom to accomplish the things you enjoy when you spend quality time by yourself. However, you cannot completely enjoy doing these activities if your spouse is someone who consistently makes you feel horrible about yourself and criticizes all of your decisions.

Their unfavorable energy is sufficient to sap the beauty from anything you actually treasure.

3. It is preferable to sleep alone rather than wake up next to a stranger.

Imagine falling asleep next to someone who makes you feel lonely every day. Going to bed alone can sometimes be excruciatingly lonely. Does the way your significant other behaves exhibit a complete disregard for your feelings and emotions?

If that applies to you, you might want to do a serious reality check. Someone’s “love” for you can never be genuine if they don’t give a damn about how you feel or what you value. At least you won’t have to worry about sleeping next to someone who makes you feel uncomfortable when you’re waking up alone.

4. It’s preferable to spend quality time alone than with the wrong person.

“Imagine how much you can love the right person if you can love the wrong person that much”, someone once said.
In other words, the enormous effort you expend to love someone who is not completely committed to you is nothing in comparison to the feeling you will have if you find that person.

Use that time to reconnect with yourself and determine what’s best for you rather than wasting it on a half-assed relationship. You’ll be prepared to open your heart to the kind of love that will complete you rather than destroy you once you grasp what you’re capable of and what you actually deserve.

5. It’s preferable to chat to someone who understands you than to remain by yourself with your ideas.

You’re an idealist. You have ideas, views, and things you want to say to the people you care about. Your spirit yearns for a genuine connection with someone who would be moved by your thoughts and encourage your most improbable fantasies.

So, please, don’t let your irrational mind down by continuing a one-sided relationship with someone you have nothing in common with. Stay away from someone who lacks interest in the topics that affect you and is unable to hold a meaningful conversation.
