The airline declared that the restriction would be in place as of February 10. After that time, passengers who choose not to purchase a more expensive ticket are only allowed to check one small carry-on bag under their seat.

On social media, EasyJet’s new baggage policy sparked debate. Some clients supported the modification because they believed it would “free up storage space,” but many others were critical.
“EasyJet made a horrible decision. In a bid for lower prices, they are monetizing every opportunity similar to Ryanair. Other low-cost airlines won’t follow suit, according to one Twitter user.

All passengers are currently allowed to board flights with carry-on baggage up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm, which allows them to store small wheeled luggage in the top lockers.
The new regulations make it more expensive to bring a bag that big on board. For shorter flights, prices start at 7.99 pounds (approximately 215 Mexican pesos), and go up to 29.99 pounds (about 800 pesos) for longer ones.
Subject to available capacity on board, passengers who purchase a more costly Flexi price or are members of the airline’s frequent flyer program may bring one small and one large piece of carry-on luggage.
Customers of EasyJet who already have a reservation for travel beginning on or after February 10 and do not desire to pay more may check a larger piece of carry-on luggage for free in the aircraft hold.
Since the coronavirus epidemic has resulted in severe travel limitations, airlines are looking for methods to reduce expenses. As revenues declined by less than half from January to September 2020, EasyJet recorded losses of 1.27 billion pounds (nearly 34 billion pesos) in November. In its 25-year history, this is the first time the airline has experienced annual losses.
